McLaren has an impressive catalog of supercars coming out in 2020. Two that stand out are the 2020 Speedtail and the McLaren Senna, both part of the company’s Ultimate Series models.
The 2020 Speedtail is a hypercar that pays homage to the McLaren F1, even featuring the iconic model’s three-seat interior. Unlike other McLaren models that merge several areas of focus from handling to driving dynamics and acceleration, the Speedtail was built with one goal in mind: speed. Powered by a 4.0l twin-turbo V8 with a 308-hp electric motor for 1,035 horsepower, the car can reach a top speed of over 250mph and accelerate to 186mph in 12.8 seconds. With its prolonged rear, it is the most drag-efficient McLaren ever assembled and the company’s first-ever Hyper-GT. Only 106 Speedtails will be built but will not be street-legal in the United States.
The McLaren Senna was named after legendary Formula 1 track driver Ayrton Senna. With a low weight of 2,850 pounds and aerodynamics generating a downforce as much as 1,764 pounds at 155mph, the Senna is a road-legal car that truly belongs on the race track. It’s even the fastest McLaren road car on the track. Powered by 4.0l twin-turbo V8 units producing 789 horsepower, it can reach a top speed of 211mph and accelerates to 60mph in 2.6 seconds. Only 500 models will be built.
