Johnson & Johnson Recognized as Most Admired Company in 2020
Anaheim, California resident Manny Bojorquez has launched several ventures, one of which is peaCure, a company that produces palmitoylethanolamide associated with pain management. Before peaCure, Manny Bojorquez worked for Johnson & Johnson in Irvine, another company with a focus on health.
Long known for its contribution to research and advances in healthcare, Johnson & Johnson was recently recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies in 2020, landing at number one for pharmaceutical companies. For more than 130 years, Johnson & Johnson has focused on promoting health because it believes it is the foundation of good health, and this platform has been integral to the company engaging in activities that facilitate healthy outcomes for communities.
Fortune partnered with the consulting firm Korn Ferry to compile the list of eligible companies. After surveying top executives and directors and industry analysts, the magazine created a list to identify companies that possessed the strongest reputations when assessing them against nine characteristics, characteristics such as social responsibility, ability to attract and retain talented people, and innovation.
For Johnson & Johnson, being added to the list was the result of a spectacular year filled with accomplishments. The first accomplishment involved the Food and Drug Administration approving a treatment developed in one of the conglomerate’s companies for metastatic urothelial cancer. The company also committed to helping people in the Democratic Republic of Congo with a treatment for Ebola, which has experienced its second-worst outbreak. Last year also marked the launch of the Mosaico trials involving sites across North and South America and Europe evaluating a mosaic-based vaccine for HIV.
