In January 2020, Frito Lay decided to re-introduce two of America’s favorites at this year’s Superbowl, Cheetos andMC Hammer. The Cheetos-MC Hammer collaboration will reintroduce a re-invented version of the snack that left orange dust, called cheetle, on the snacker’s fingers and those harem pants worn by the rap star who became so famous in the early nineties.
The collaboration is a part of Frito Lay’s new marketing campaign called “It’s a Cheetos Thing.” The re-introduction marked the first time that a Cheetos ad has appeared during the Super Bowl in ten years. However, Cheetos has re-fashioned the original version into a Cheetos Popcorn.
The ad that introduced the product to 2020 audiences during the Superbowl is set to one of MC Hammer’s most popular tunes-“You Can’t Touch This,” which also celebrated its 30th anniversary.
